The Marantz AV8805 Preamp Processor is an exceptional sounding 13.2 channel preamp processor. If you like clean, clear, dynamic and airy sound, this one is for you! The 8805 offers more features and better performance as compared to the 8802. For example, redesigned HDAM (discrete Operational Amplifiers), lower jitter design through multiple signal path enhancements, redesigned volume control circuitry, and a new XT32 room correction app that allows flexibility and custom EQ customization.
The AV7705 is heavily related to the AV8805. It’s impossible to beat the sound quality of the 7705 especially at this price! On the 7705 and 8805, Marantz has integrated the HEOS engine platform. The Epicon 2 bookshelf speaker is one incredible loudspeaker. Don’t be fooled by its size. You will hear an unbelievably large soundstage that is holographic and textured. If you pick some of the best speakers ever made, most of them use Danish drivers. In fact, the Director of Engineering of DALI use to be the head engineer of Scan Speak Denmark.
Parasound Halo A51
Parasound Halo A51 Amplifier
The Parasound Halo amplifier series is one of my favorites. The A51 theater amplifier for instance can control any difficult speaker load. It will beat-up on some of the most expensive amplifiers independent of the price. So you own some $15K boutique mono-block amplifiers? Don’t assume this the DC coupled, wide bandwidth design will finish second even with 3 other channels attached. It’s that good.
Magico A5
Magico A5 -A5 – Loudspeaker (3 way / 5 driver design)
Magico will be releasing a flagship A-series. The new A5 loudspeaker uses “trickle down technology”. Derived from their S and M series, the A series speakers are cut from the same cloth and cost tens-of-thousands less. Retail price is $21,800. A matching center (ACC), bookshelves (A1), and smaller floor standing speaker (A3) will round out the series.
